Lil Wayne is in a Coma, According To TMZ. Some Think He May Be on Death's Door. Here is a March 15, 2013 Update

Lil Wayne is in a medically-induced coma, according to March 15, 2013 TMZ story. The story goes on to say that the rapper may have "sizzurp" in his system when he was rushed to hospital (What is "sizzurp"? The Hollywood Reporter offers a sizzurp definition).

That story led to wild rumors that Lil Wayne may be dead or on death's door. 

Here is what we know as we approach midnight on March 15: Lil Wayne is in Cedars-Sinai hospital. According to TMZ, the rapper has stabilized but is still in critical condition.

Some of his friends tell a quite different story about Lil Wayne's health. Gawker tracked statements from friends and fellow rappers who say that Lil Wayne is in better condition than TMZ has lead people to believe.

Rapper Mack Maine wrote: "We will be releasing an official statement shortly but dont believe the nonsense about comas and tubes to breathe...that's false!!"

A tweet from Lil Wayne's account went out around 6:30 PST saying, "I'm good everybody. Thx for the prayers and love."

Meanwhile, Hollywood Life suggests that the Lil Wayne coma is a publicity stunt, a story that has been referred to as "shameless."
