Lil Wayne, born Dwayne Carter, still has an extremely strong music career, and has been reaching out to fans via Youtube and Twitter.

Lil Wayne left the Manhattan courtroom in handcuffs after the sentencing, which follows a plea deal following charges of gun possession. According to attorney Scott Leemon, who is no stranger to defending hip-hop stars, Lil Wayne would have a strong chance of leaving jail early if he keeps his head down:

"Basically, all he needs to do is stay out of trouble, and it's an automatic thing. But if you're having disciplinary problems, they can take away good time."
