Lin Yu Chun: Taiwanese 'Susan Boyle' Gets Voted Off Talent Show
Lin Yu Chun Voted Off
His star dimmed almost as quickly as it was lit up. Or did it?
Twenty-four-year-old Lin Yu Chun, who was deemed Taiwanese 'Susan Boyle after his pitch-perfect rendition of Whitney Houston's famous song I Will Always Love You on Taiwanese talent show, was voted off.
The video clip of Lin Yu Chun's I Will Always Love You performance on Taiwanese version of "American Idol" received close to five million page views on YouTube. But, unlike Boyle who reached the finals of Britain's Got Talent dominating headlines for months, Lin Yu Chun took his exit early. After his last performance, the judges scorned Lin for not hitting the right notes.
What Is Next For Lin Yu Chun?
It seems Lin Yu Chun is not about to lapse into obscurity. Not with a story like his. Lin claims he was teased growing up for his excessive weight. He reminisces saying his classmates made fun of him and called him a "fatty." Sounds familiar? Britain's Got Talent sensation Susan Boyle also claimed being bullied in childhood. She experienced learning difficulties and was nicknamed "Susie Simple" in school.
Boyle is now earning a seven-figure salary. And, as for Lin Yu Chun, it is reported he might be signed by a label as well. Lin was allegedly invited to make an appearance on the Lopez Tonight show in the United States. More show appearances are in the works. And after that, who knows?
During his brief stint on the talent show, Lin Yu Chun was very active on his blog, commenting about his success on the show and excitement about being shown on TV stations around the globe. He has not blogged since April 8, and has yet to comment on being voted off and his future endeavors.
