A catty tweet from Lindsay Lohan's Twitter account has landed the star in hot water at Avenue, a hot New York club. (This is the second recent Lohan tweet to do so)The tweet, which asked "where's jb cheater?", apparently referencing Justin Timberlake running around behind girlfriend Jessical Biel's back, drew the ire of the club's celeb-friendly owners, who have a strict no-e-gossip policy, apparently.  Lohan's excuse: her Twitter account was hacked. (It's a tried-and-true excuse: if I had a nickel for every time I've heard the "my account got hacked" excuse, I'd be writing this from a private tropical island)

Here's the tweet in question (TwitPic, technically speaking).

Lohan claims a fellow reveler at the club hacked into her Twitter.com account on Monday night, and that she had nothing to do with a remark about fellow clubber Timberlake's behavior.

And she's taking aim at the brains behind the Twitter.com phenomenon: "Clearly! Twitter needs to fix their [bleep]. I didn't write 'jb cheater!' What does that even mean? It's annoying.

She didn't mention the Fail Whale, though. I'd have mentioned the Fail Whale. Then again, I'm also not Lindsay Lohan, to which those who have met me in person will readily attest.
