Australia were in total control in the first ODI, and when one compares the quality of play that was witnessed, the hosts would be setting themselves a target of a series whitewash. However, Sri Lanka suffered a disappointing defeat in the first ODI of their recent series with Australia, and came back strongly to level things at 2-2. The Windies will draw some inspiration from Australia's lack of consistency, and will be armed with the knowledge that they can only go in one direction from here.
