New Zealand vs Sri Lanka 2012 2nd Test Match Day 2 Live Cricket Score.

New Zealand will start Day Three of the Colombo Test against Sri Lanka on a high after pacer Tim Southee sent back Kumar Sangakkara and Tilakaratne Dilshan to rock the Sri Lankan top-order.

Having bowled out the Kiwis for 412, the Lankans had a horrendous start as three big wickets with just 12 runs on the board.

First to fall was Dilshan. Southee bowled a straight delivery that went through Dilshan's bat and pad to crash onto the stumps as the latter tried to play a straight drive without moving his feet.

Two deliveries later, a pumped up Southee followed this up with a short pitched delivery to new man Sangakkara, who failed to get entirely behind the ball and ended up giving a catch to Trent Boult at fine leg.

Next to go for Jayawardene who chased a wide delivery outside off-stump without getting to the pitch of the ball and ended up giving a simple catch to Kane Williamson at gully.

With seven overs still remaining in the day, bad light stopped play and the umpires called it a day with Sri Lanka at 43 for three with Tharanga Paranavitana and Angelo Mathews at the crease. Sri Lanka trail New Zealand by 369 runs.

Brief Scores: New Zealand 412 (Ross Taylor 142, Kane Williamson 135; Rangana Herath 6 for 103) leadSri Lanka 43 for 3 ( Angelo Mathews 20*, Tharanga Paranavitana 9*; Tim Southee 2 for 16) by 369 runs.
