Jodie Fields, the Australian captain, won the toss and chose to bat on a bright sunny afternoon in the final of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2013 against the West Indies at the Brabourne Stadium on Sunday (February 17). Australia are five-time champions while the West Indies are making their maiden World Cup final appearance.
Australia’s bowling attack was given a boost with the return of Ellyse Perry, who missed the last three games due to an ankle injury. Sarah Coyte, the right-arm pace bowler, too was back in the side after recovering from a back injury.
