Barack Obama, who is being hailed as America's hip-hop president, is about to be celebrated by some of hip-hop's biggest stars.

High profile hip-hop artists including LL Cool J, Mos Def, MC Lyte, Akon, T.I., and Young Jeezy will join Russell Simmons and Dave Chappelle at the "Hip-Hop Inaugural Ball" — a concert to be held on January 19th in Washington, D.C. as part of the celebrations leading up to Obama's official inauguration.

But this won't be the only ball in town, as Obama will host the much-anticipated 'Neighborhood Inaugural Ball' on the evening of January 20th.

Washington is about to host an unprecedented number of visitors and a huge number of events in the coming days, as the city gets in full swing — beginning this Saturday with another huge inauguration concert that will feature: U2, Beyonce, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Sheryl Crow, Garth Brooks, Shakira, John Mellencamp, Herbie Hancock, Usher, James Taylor, will.i.am, Mary J. Blige, John Legend and many more.

This concert/ball is just one more reason why I'm happy Obama won.

Any news on whether or not it is televised?

I'm glad to see Dave Chapelle got the invite. Way to go, Dave!
