The full lineup for Lollapalooza 2010 won't be announced until April, but the headliners for the popular music festival have been leaked as of yesterday. Lady GaGa, Green Day, and the recently reunited Soundgarden will be headlining Lollapalooza 2010.

The full music festival lineup isn't likely to surface for another few months, but The Strokes and Arcade Fire are rumoured to be two of the additional three headliners that will join Lady GaGa, Green Day, and Soundgarden on the festival's main stage.

The news first surfaced on The Daily Swarm, which cites "multiple industry sources" as confirming that Gaga, Green Day and the recently reunited Soundgarden will headline the fest. It also reports that three additional headliners will be confirmed when the full Lollapalooza lineup is officially announced, which in past years has typically occurred in April.

Lollapalooza 2010 will be taking place in Chicago from August 6-8 this year. One of the biggest changes will be the fact that Lady GaGa will be returning as a headliner for Lollapalooza. In 2007, she was a relatively unknown performer on a side stage at the music festival. This year, there's no doubt that every spectator in the crowd will know her name.

Lollapalooza is one of the biggest music festivals in the States. Last year's festival grossed $14,082,461 according to Billboard's Boxscore, and was attended by some 225,000 concert goers. It was the third highest grossing music festival of 2009, and there's no doubt that the 2010 Lollapalooza event will be just as successful.

Here is a list of other rumoured performers for Lollapalooza 2010:

  • BoB/Bobby Ray
  • DriveBy Truckers
  • The Cribs
  • Company Of Thieves
  • Infected Mushroom
  • X Japan
  • The Flaming Lips
  • Phoenix
  • Hockey
  • Disco Buscuits

Who rather see the strokes or arcade fire...cuz the actually can perform on stage consistently very well...arcade fire is better live than in the studio and the stroke are also very good live...soundgarden is good live but not as good as the strokes and arcade fire!

I am AMAZED that X Japan is even being mentioned here.  They have been around since the 80's and are hugely popular in Japan but they have never played an American festival or in the Midwest for that matter.  J rock fans (myself included) are going to be thrilled if they do end up playing there.

Holy shit this better be (I suspect it probably is) false.  This is the most awful, out of place, bland headliners I have ever seen.

It was confirmed in February 2010 by the leader of X-Japan that the band had been invited to headline the main stage this year. This band can and has sold out 50,000 seat auditoriums in mere minutes! These guys are HOT!

who the hell is Lady Gaga? why is she at a rock festival?

0
Pam Ster

fuck. all. these. headliners.  let's get something that's not some form of pop bullshit. kthanks.

1
The Spoonman

umm....Soundgarden is definitely not just random pop bullshit. They're grunge legends and this is their first public performance in 13 years. So for us SG fans, this is pretty fucking sick.

I seriously hope this is a joke. I wouldn't pay money to see any of these bands individually let alone go to a festival where these bands are headlining.

Hey dudes,   I think Lady Gaga's music is only shit, that isn't a Lollapalooza Line up, I mean, what's wrong with Perry? If I were Perry, I would include somebody like Flaming Lips, Arcade Fire, Roger Waters, etc. Never Lady Gaga. Please.

By the way, I would include Portishead too..... I don't know, I hope my comments don't ofend anybody.

i love Portishead! and hate this lineup.... :(

Green Day and Lady Gaga...really?

dave1969

Perry...c'mon. Please tell me there is going to be someone worth paying $190 for. Let's just hope the rumors are wrong. I've made the trip to Chicago 5 years in a row at around 2 grand a pop and if this is the best he can do I may have to opt for Bonnaroo...
