Lollapalooza Lineup Rumor from Chicago: Jack White, The Weeknd, Die Antwoord, More

Music fans are eagerly awaiting the Lollapalooza 2012 lineup announcement. Early bird tickets are already sold out, and the official lineup has yet to be announced. The AV Club comes in with what it calls a credible rumor on who will be headlining this year's Lollapalooza tour.

The official Lollapalooza lineup is announced on April 11, but who wants to wait until then?

The AV Club bases its prediction on ads seen throughout Chicago's public transport system, which includes lyrics from songs by:

  • Jack White (“I wont let love disrupt, corrupt or interrupt me”)
  • Die Antwoord (“I fink u freeky”)
  • Justice (“Do the D.A.N.C.E.”)
  • The Weeknd ("I got a test for you”)

... along with the #lolla hashtag.

Previous rumors, spread by Lolita Palooza and Lolla Leaks,  pointed to acts such as Gotye, Joan Jett, The Shins, M83, Skrillex, At The Drive-In, Garbage, Missy Elliott, Guided By Voices, Sleigh Bells, Passion Pit, and M.I.A.

We're aware that we put ourselves in Perry Farrell's crosshairs by posting this: The Jane's Addiction frontman and Lollapalooza architect absolutely hates Lollapalooza lineup rumors.

Well, when you sell $230 tickets to a festival before announcing the lineup, surely you must expect rumors to swirl. Deal with it.

Lollapalooza 2012 hits Chicago's Grant Park on August 3-5.
