Lone Ranger & Tonto: Pic of Armie Hammer & Johnny Depp
Tonto & Lone Ranger Photo: Jerry Bruckheimer Tweets Pic of Johnny Depp & Armie Hammer
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer tweeted a photo of Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp in costume as the Lone Ranger and Tonto for The Lone Ranger, slated for a May 2013 release.
Gone are the blue suit and brown leathers. Tonto has a stuffed-bird headdress and seems to have borrowed Captain Jack Sparrow's hair. Armie Hammer's Lone Ranger rocks a black suit and clean white shirt... maybe too clean to a post-Unforgiven and Deadwood audience.
Indeed, The Lone Ranger also stars Deadwood alums Leon Rippy and W. Earl Brown. The film is directed by Gore Verbinski, of Pirates of the Caribbean fame.
Also, Johnny Depp's ethnicity: Depp looks pretty white, though he says has some degree of Native American heritage. Part of Johnny Depp's intention in doing The Lone Ranger was to help reinvent the relationship between Tonto and the Lone Ranger.
(Side note: Johnny Depp may also be distantly related to the Queen of England.)
