Lori Petty Arrested For Drinking and Driving

Lori Petty, actress known for playing Keanu Reeves's girlfriend in 1991 movie Point Break, has been arrested for drinking and driving in Los Angeles on Saturday. It is reported that Petty has struck and injured a teenage skateboarder, who appears to be doing fine after the accident. Petty was released on $100,000 bail on Sunday.

Lori Petty also faced a second charge relating to the drinking and driving incident May 30, 2009. The second charge is a lesser one; driving without proof of insurance.  Lori Petty will be arraigned on the drinking and driving charges June 25, 2009.

Police in Los Angeles say "Point Break" actress Lori Petty has been arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after she struck and injured a skateboarder.

Police spokesman Bruce Borihanh (BORE'-ee-hahn) says the 45-year-old Petty was arrested Saturday night in the Venice neighborhood of Los Angeles. He says the unidentified skateboarder was treated for injuries at the scene.

Petty was booked into jail early Sunday and released after posting $100,000 bail.

A call to her manager was not immediately returned.

Petty was the star of the 1995 movie "Tank Girl" and has also appeared in "Point Break" and "A League of Their Own."

She was arrested for felony DUI after officers concluded she was under influence of alcohol. The skateboarder only suffered minor injuries during the incident and didn't go to the hospital.

Petty was released from jail this morning after posting $100,000 bail.
