Lynne Koplitz and Neil Tyson Host StarTalk: New Space Radio Show
Lynne Koplitz who is a professional standup comedienne is co-hosting Neil deGrasse Tyson's new radio show called Star Talk. The show is the first of its kind that focuses on everything to do with space exploration. Tyson is a famous astrophysicist and has authored many books and his asking comedienne Lynne Koplitz to co-host a science show might be seen as a surprising choice.
However, Tyson is confident that Star Talk will only be the better for Koplitz.
I had seen her work and saw how creative and progressive she was in her commentary about life, politics, social mores, and the like, and was curious whether the mix between science content and her take on science content would make interesting listening for the radio listener.
The show will most likely attract a wider demographic with one hilarious co-host having no professed scientific knowledge. Tyson is excited to help convince radio listeners that science is fun.
The goal is to convince people that science is all around us, and science that doesn’t have to be as though you’re taking medicine, that you can have fun with it. And that’s what we do for an hour on StarTalk.
The show will debut on December 2 and 16 at 12:00 PM PST on KLSX 97.1 Free FM (CBS Radio) and will also be streamed on their website.
StarTalk will bridge the intersection between Pop Culture and Pop Science with clarity, humor and passion. Captivating subjects—such as space travel, extra-terrestrial life, the Big Bang, the future of our Earth and the environment, and breaking news from the universe—will all be explored.

Star Talk is a great show. Neil reaches for the stars and Lynne keeps it on the ground. The mix works so well since most people aren't astrophysicists, but most want to learn about space. Would be great to see this in a video version too. I can imagine the faces both of them make as a bonus. Keep up the stellar job and for making science fun again.
