After releasing two critically acclaimed albums of world music-infused, electro crunk, Sri Lankan/UK singer, rapper and visual artist M.I.A. (aka Maya Arulpragasam) has now taken to documenting events in her own backyard.

M.I.A. splits her time between the UK and NYC and, today, while in her Bed Stuy neighbourhood apartment in Brooklyn, she posted an eyewitness, 'citizen journalism' video account of police brutality being perpetrated against someone just outside her home.
