NEW YORK CITY - Have you ever wondered what would happen if you combined Shakespeare's Macbeth with Latinos, drag queens, a post apocalyptic vision and new york city? Well, wonder no more it's finally been done. The play is director Jose A. Esquea's artistic vision of Macbeth playing at an off off off Broadway location on the Lower east side of Manhattan.

The play which closes in two days at the CSV cultural center begins in the year 2029. "The Scottish Play takes place in a post apocalyptic setting in which what remains of humanity is now battling for power in the barren landscape of Scotland"

The show overall was a noble attempt and definitely is something of interest to people looking for a fresh take on the play. Dan Tibbets who plays Macbeth generally carries the role well and certainly places his modern spin on the part. The supporting cast is enjoyable as well with costumes flamboyant and lively enough to spark anyone's interest.

Overall I enjoyed the play and always find it refreshing in this day and age to discover that reflection and the dying art of thinking is still not yet extinct.
