Do you like Mad Men? I sure as hell do. One day I'm going to be an empty-hearted jerk in a kick-ass suit. Until then, though, I gotta just watch it on TV like everybody else. However, what happens if you don't know what they're talking about? Or why their world works the way it does? We live in time where women are no longer objects (though guys are still prone to being tools) and company culture is really different. Some guy on the Internet took it upon himself to create a Mad Men footnotes blog, complete with scans of period magazine covers, newspaper ads, and other complimentary content.

Now that's fandom, and it's useful for the rest of us.
