Mad Men is back, with season 3. Episode 1 takes us a little bit into the future (of the past), with the Cuban Missle Crisis over with, but JFK is still alive. Okay, no more spoilers. The episode entitled Out of Town, involves Don Draper and Salvatore Romano hitting the road to woo London Fog ( which is actually an American company) over to Sterling Cooper's stable of clients. We get a bit more insight into the many lives and many faces of Don Draper, who continues to show more layers than Shrek. Sal, too, spends a bit of time being other people. The fashion is fixed, but the identities are sometimes rather fluid. I dare say no more, for those who are waiting for the rerun or TiVo or torrent.

As the season opens, they’ve already burned through a lot of S-C fixtures and have waited until a tasteful moment to remove [REDACTED BY JORDAN], whose wife is [NO SPOILERS]. (If they were counting on him not raising hell anyway, they calculated wrong.)

By way of a next move, Pryce decides to appoint both Ken and Pete to Head Of Accounts, divvying up S-C’s clients down the middle. The move’s real motives are apparent to all.

I didn't realize that this was Season 3... I thought it was only Season 2. I've obviously missed a few episodes, but the writing is concise enough that someone just tuning in will get the gist of the A-story, but still be playing catch-up with the subplots. I quite like that.
