Queen of Pop to Honor King of Pop

Madonna paid tribute to Michael Jackson at London's O2 Center, where the King of Pop was set to perform later this month, and Madonna called him 'the greatest performer the world has ever known'.

A picture of Michael was shined above the stage tonight as the singer kicked off her Sticky and Sweet tour in the UK.

One of her dancers dressed in Jackson's trademark black hat moonwalked across the stage to the delight of the huge crowd packed into the arena and short versions of two of Jackson's greatest hits, Billie Jean and Wanna Be Startin' Somethin', were also performed.

Madonna then turned to the crowd and said: "To one of the greatest performers the world has ever known - Michael Jackson."
