Madonna Hydrangea Video from Venice

While appearing at a press conference at the Venice Film Festival for W.E., Madonna was offered a giant flower from a member of the press. It was a hydrangea. Clearly the guy didn't get the memo.

Madonna, in range of the switched-on mic, turns to the person on her right and says, "I absolutely loathe hydrangeas. He obviously doesn't know." Well, he does now, and so do we. If you are ever in a position in which you must offer Madonna a flower, make sure it's not a hydrangea. She won't take it home and put it in a vase.

Madonna graciously accepted the hydrangea, though, when it was handed to her. It's only the aftermath that was awkwardly funny in a comedy-of-manners sort of way.

W.E., which is Madonna's directorial debut, was universally panned at the Venice Film Festival. W.E. is about Wallis Simpson, who was Edward VII's lover. He abdicated the throne in order to marry Simpson, and the two honeymooned in France and got way too cozy with the Nazis. Part of this story is covered in The King's Speech, which, if early reviews of W.E. are any indication, is roughly 154x better a film.

OMG-the queen has spoketh-is she breaking from the kabbalah/yoga/charity crap she uses for a cover to appear loving, aside from another possible failure in film, she is "caught" showing her true colors, her "friends" squander millions, supposedly going to help poor female orphans, the clothes she sells are made in sweat shops. She uses homosexuals, artists and the community to rape in profit. What an inspiration to the world and culture, a celebraton of all we cherish, Madonna.

Madonna does lots of thing well! she makes great music, her videos are among the best i've seen from any artist and she's a beautiful woman. but she's too caught up in her own publicity and look at the extremes she'll go to.... all for the sake of creating a controversy and a tabloid story. she's kept her career going for over 25 years and that's an amazing feat when you consider how most artists come and go. but sometimes she can be pathetic when it comes to getting herself some publicity. this hydrangea story is the stupidest story of hers i've ever heard. she must be doing more interesting and news worthy things than this?!
