Madonna's Blemished Childhood Home Hits the Market for $49K
Iconic music legend Madonna is no stranger to lavish properties, her most recent purchase being a gated Upper East Side mansion in NYC estimated at around $32 million. However, have any of you wondered what the queen of pop’s childhood home looked like? Well, once a quaint home sitting in the suburbs of Rochester Hills, Michigan is now a soot-stained eye sore patiently awaiting to be occupied.
The home, whose price hasn’t remained steady over the course of ten years is now on the market for less than 49K, much lower than the median home value of the area and even neighboring Detroit. Originally placed on EBay in 2001, die-hard Madonna fans went into a frenzy and the top bidder snagged the home for a mere $331,000. While the owner’s intentions were to renovate and resell Madonna's childhood home, it was much easier said than done, as records show the home was resold twice in the next few years. While the home become irrelevant and unwanted, it regained notoriety again in 2008 when the majority of the home was destroyed by a fire (believed to be arson).
While the home has remained empty over the last couple of years, it is once again on the Rochester Hills real estate market and for an affordable price. Still an eye sore and thoroughly stained from it’s past history, will a willing buyer invest in the home of pop legend Madonna?
