Madonna's concert rocks Vancouver
Sticky and Sweet Tour Review
Madonna, Queen of Pop, had 55,000 people standing on their feet for two hours in Vancouver tonight as she played to a sold out show at BC Place, part of her Sticky and Sweet Tour.
Playing a mix of old favourites and hits from her new album 'Hard Candy', Madonna gyrated, danced, swaggered and stomped her way across the stage at BC Place.
She may not be as raunchy as she once was, favouring costumes that look more like work out clothes than anything, but she's still got it.
One of the best moments was when Madonna sang her old hit 'La Isla Bonita' with a new rock twist and all her dancers were dressed in colourful costumes and even though you were with thousands of other people, you felt like you were at a party with just Madge herself.
She opened her show with 'Candy Shop' and closed with 'Give it to me' - one of her most recent hits, a duet with Pharrell.
In true Vancouver style, there was a lot of pot smokers in the audience, and at one point even Madonna remarked 'don't smoke near the stage please'.
All in all, the concert was amazing; Madonna sang like the seasonal veteran she is, and even though she came on late, she was well worth the wait. She doesn't disappoint.
BC Place however was not prepared for 55,000 people to show up to their doors. Most people waited an hour outside to get into the show and another 45 minuntes to get out, due to the bad layout of the stadium and the lack of entrance and exit doors. If this is a preview to the 2010 Olympics, then Vancouver is going to have a problem.
For Madonna however, it was worth it.

amyjudd, I like this story. It's good stuff. That has been a hell of a gorgeous concert! Madonna is a true Queen of Pop. She is ranked the best-selling female rock artist of the twentieth century. Guinness World Records list her as the world's most successful female recording artist of all time and the top-earning female singer in the world with an estimated net worth of $490 million, having sold over 200 million records worldwide!
