Rapper Magnolia Shorty (Renetta Lowe) Was Likely Murdered in a Double Homicide DJ Wild Wayne Announced On Q93.3 FM

Police have not released the names of the victims of the double homicide in eastern New Orleans, but fans started wondering if Magnolia Shorty was one of them earlier today and then just after 5pm, DJ Wild Wayne made an announcement on his radio show stating:

"If y'all haven't heard, Magnolia Shorty was killed today," he said. "I'm just astonished. I need to get my head together for a minute."

A shooting happened just after 12:30pm according to NOLA in the 6300 block of Bridgehampton Drive and police found a man and a woman inside a car. Both were shot and the car had crashed in the gates of an apartment complex.

Both victims were shot several times, but police have not released any details on who the shooter(s) may be.

Magnolia Shorty signed to Cash Money Records in the early 90's. She was brought to the attention of label owners Bryan "Baby" and Ronald "Slim" Williams by members of the Hot Boys supergroup, who had been her childhood playmates and friends growing up in the Magnolia Project.
