Major lottery winner says he's a fraud victim Ex-carpet cleaner sues to recover more than $3.5 million Ian Mulgrew, CanWest News ServicePublished: Wednesday, September 12, 2007

VANCOUVER -- B.C.'s biggest lottery winner claims he was bilked of more than $3.5 million less than 18 months after the windfall, by false friends helped by two Vancouver lawyers and an accountant.

Tsering Luding, the carpet cleaner who scored $24 million from Super 7, says he was defrauded in a sophisticated sting featuring phoney financial statements and $100,000 payments delivered in banded bills wrapped in plastic bags. He is trying to get it back through a B.C. Supreme Court civil suit.

Since it began December 2006, the fight has featured contempt of court charges, private-eye surveillance and explanations from the man at the heart of the alleged scam -- "Dr. Bill Wong."

Okay, so how did I do after it took me nearly 20 min's. to finally download the software that I needed to get the Highlight feature onto my Google Toolbar!?  Now that I finally have it after three failed attempts - I hope this will make things a little bit easier!  I wanted to post this story because it is a local one for me!  As I live in the Vancouver area, I have seen on the news media plenty of examples of where there were grave mistakes by the Lottery Corporation -- most of the examples came out of Ontario, but this one is from Vancouver and goes to show the other side of the problem -- the problem of sophisticated con artists who seem to have ample know how in how to steal from others!  It is a very sad situation!  It really makes many people feel that they have absolutely no protection out there!  What do you think about this?

Okay, but getting back to the actual topic!  I'm kind of wondering how people feel about the Lottery Corporation?  Do people feel like the system actually works and is fool proof, or are you like myself, and wonder if you should even trust the Lottery System when you think about purchasing a ticket?
