Mariah Carey Playboy Interview Foreshadows Eminen Feud

Who knew in 2007 when Mariah Carey was in Playboy that an off the cuff remark she made about rapper Eminem was a foreshadow of things to come. By 2009 the "relationship" between Mariah Carey and Eminem had become a full blown war complete with nasty barbs, vicious threats and even nude pictures.

In 2001 rumors circulated that Mariah Carey and Eminem had dated and that it hadn't ended well. Mariah Carey has since vehemently denied ever dating the foul mouth and un-even tempered Eminem, something he has not taken well. In a 2009 comeback attempt Eminem went on the war path against Mariah Carey, who was by that time blissfully married to Nick Cannon.

In his celebrity slam fest song Bagpipes from Baghdad, Eminem sent out a warning to Nick Cannon that he should "back the f*ck up." Nick Cannon took the comment to mean that Eminem was still obsessed with Mariah Carey, "his wife." The call out prompted Mariah to reiterate that she never dated Eminem.

According to Eminem, he and Mariah Carey dated for "a good six or seven months" and in his most recent threats, he claims he can prove it. Mariah Carey's video for her latest song Obsession features an antagonistic character that looks an awful lot like Eminem. Though Mariah has denied the similarity as an coincidence, Eminem is not amused.

He responded with a new song The Warning in which he raps, "I got the exact same tattoo that's on Nick's back, I'm obsessed now, oh gee, is that supposed to be me in the video with the goatee." Eminem also goes on in the song about how he saved voice messages and some nude photos of Mariah that will prove he dated Mariah Carey, but that she was the one with an "obsession."

PLAYBOY: Last year you clashed with Eminem after he claimed the two of you had been romantically involved. Then he reportedly sent you a letter of apology. What did it say?

CAREY: Something is clearly askew with him, and I'm not quite sure what it is. I just heard something else he recently said about me. I'm curious as to why he's so obsessed with me. I never got an apology letter, by the way; I don't know what they're talking about. Then again, I wasn't exactly searching my mailbox for it.

"Mariah, it ever occur to you that I still have pictures?"

Oh, boy.

"But if I'm embarrassing me, I'm embarrassing you and don't you dare say it isn't true," he continues later in the track.

"As long as the song's getting airplay I'm dissing you, I'm a hair away from getting carried away and getting sued, I was gonna stop at 16, this is 32, this is 34 bars, we ain't even a third of the way through."

Just so long as, overall, we're almost at the end.
