She had spent weeks making sure that every detail of her party was perfect, even hand-picking the waiters.

But Mariah Carey threatened a diva tantrum when she heard a Premier league footballer had gatecrashed her £300,000 bash.

The singer was adamant that under no circumstances should footballers be allowed  into the Jalouse nightclub in Mayfair where she was celebrating the launch of her new album with an angel-themed party on Thursday night.

The management had assured the star that the venue operates a strict policy which bans players and their WAGs.

But that was not enough to deter party-loving Arsenal striker Niklas Bendtner.

The 21-year-old Danish player slipped into the nightclub, prompting a heated discussion over whether he should be thrown out.

What is wrong with this lady? It is just a party! And Nicklas Bendtner isn't a thief or a peadophile or whatever. He has a job. He plays football. Moreover, the player was invited (as a guest) by the company that arranged the event. Someone tell the snob to calm down. Sheesh!

I guess.....it's her party, she paid for it, she can have whoever she wants there.  I have all of her albums and will probably continue to buy them going forward.  It is, however, getting harder and harder to like her and respect her when you hear about things like this and her demands (red carpet to go into a hotel, a rolls royce instead of a mercedes that Simon Cowell sent for her to arrive in).  Come on!!!!  I think that she has forgotten what it was like before her success.  What will she expect from God when she faces him?

Yeah, its her party all right. But I think she has an exaggerated opinion of who she really is.
