In the last hours of the Frieze Art Fair, London’s most prestigious venue for edgy artists, Mary George crashed Club Nutz Gallery with Camouflage Party. Just two weeks prior, Camouflage Party opened at Rocksbox Gallery in Portland Oregon where twenty some odd pieces of sculpture are hung or otherwise arranged for public viewing. They feature objects made of wood, sometimes enhanced by light bulbs, paintings, and most unique, wearable objects made from fabric featuring the artist’s leaf patterns applied through a photo relief printing process. The stationary objects are brought to life by the artist’s live performance as a musician; lyricist-composer and singer-guitarist accompanied by pick up bands and model dancers.

Mary George compounds each exhibit-performance by video recording and photo documentation from which digital artifacts are combined into the next venue-extension of the theme that she calls, Cult of the Endorphin.

Extraordinary is that Mary George is able to make complex art, transport it around the world while continuing to produce digital artifact elements seamlessly. The complex art experience is contagious among fellow artists and the public audience for which it is intended to excite.

Must see the next performance wherever it may appear.
