Mary Travers Death: Peter Paul and Mary Songs, Lyrics
Mary Travers' death shook the music world last night. Along with the other two-thirds of Peter Paul and Mary, Mary Travers leaves behind a musical legacy of Peter Paul and Mary songs you grew up with, so here are the lyrics to all those songs you know by heart. We have all sung the Puff the Magic Dragon lyrics at least once in our lives.
- Puff the Magic Dragon (lyrics)
- If I Had a Hammer (lyrics)
- Leaving on a Jet Plane (lyrics; written by John Denver)
- Blowin' in the Wind (lyrics; written by Bob Dylan)
- Where Have All the Flowers Gone? (lyrics; written by Pete Seeger
The Peter Paul and Mary website has a full-page memorial to Mary Travers.
I have no idea what it will be like to have no Mary in my world, in my life, or on stage to sing with. But I do know there will always be a hole in my heart, a place where she will always exist that will never be filled by any other person. However painful her passing is, I am forever grateful for Mary and her place in my life.”

What truly devastating news this was to me. The passing of an icon and a beautiful woman! My very first concert was Peter, Paul, and Mary. My father bought me tickets because I loved the group so. I had fourth row center in L.A. in 1981. Peter and Paul, I'm sorry for your loss. She will truly be missed.

I am 35 years old. The music of PP& Mary was a HUGE part of my childhood; of the development of my way of looking at things, belief in justice, and hope for the future.
I am saddened almost as much as I am by her loss as I am by the lack of media coverage honoring her and her message now that she is gone.
I would like to encourage anyone who knew her heart, through her music and words, to return the favor by helping to pass her memory along to a new generation.
