Masked protesters rally against the Church of Scientology in Houston
A small group of protesters with an organization called Anonymous rallied in Houston against Scientology Sunday.
They met outside the church on Fondren and Westheimer.
It looks like the Church of Scientology can't stay out of trouble
Anonymous is upset about the way the church is run, how it treats its members and how it supposedly retaliates against critics.
“We could be harmed for our actions here. As such, we are wearing masks to prevent ourselves from being identified. They have a history of stalking and harming those who oppose them,” one protester said.
The Church of Scientology issued a statement in response, saying “Anonymous is a group of cyber-terrorists who hide their identities behind masks and computer anonymity.”
They said the group has launched attacks on their Web site, as well as unrelated attacks on the FOX News Web site and Myspace.com.
It appears the Church of Scientology is an ongoing magnet for controversy.
