The Matt Lauer Cheating Scandal Continues as Lauer Moves Out of Family Home

Matt Lauer has moved out of the family home he shares with Annette Roque and their three children after news of his alleged cheating broke on Wednesday. RadarOnline reports that it was Matt Lauer's mother-in-law Johanna Struijk who said that Matt and Annette are no longer living together and that Annette is not wearing her wedding ring either.

“It’s OK, she is happy,” Struijk told The National Enquirer on the heels of the explosive news, making Lauer the latest tabloid cannon fodder in a six-month stretch that has already cast the light on celebrity cheaters such as David Letterman, Tiger Woods and Jesse James.

Matt was allegedly accused by his wife of cheating on her while he was in Vancouver British Columbia covering the Olympic Winter Games. Lauer did not come home for Valentine's Day even though he said he would and he apparently stayed behind to get to know some local Canadian women better.

“There was lots of drinking and Matt was seen on-and-off with two women, both of them pretty Canadian broadcasters," the source said. "He was getting very flirtatious with them, and they seemed to be enjoying it.”

Reportedly one of Lauer's colleagues at NBC told Annette what was happening and when Matt returned home Annette was waiting for him.

She accused Matt of cheating,” the source said. “He said the Canadian women were just friends and colleagues. He made the excuse that he’d stayed longer purely for business reasons. The fighting went on for two days, and finally Matt walked out.”

Matt and Annette apparently split up about two months ago, but did not want the news to become public, both for the children and for their public image.

These are not the first cheating allegations that Annette has had to endure from Matt however. In 2000 she learned that just months before their 1998 wedding, he was having an affair with a married woman. She then filed for divorce, but had a change of heart and decided to withdraw divorce proceedings.
