Oh those kind folks over at Axe, they're just trying to look out for poor, hunky celebrities who keep showing up to their own movie premieres stinkin' to high heaven.

Or, in McConaughey's case, are hunky celebrities with stunning girlfriends who Axe is worried might lose said stunning girlfriend unless said hunky celebrity cleans up his act...and his pits.

Nice PR stunt, Axe. But I'm on to you.

Matthew McConaughey has been sent a year’s supply of deodorant.

US company Axe sent the 38-year-old actor - who recently revealed he “never uses deodorant” - enough of their new pocket-sized body spray to last him a year, because they want him to keep his pregnant girlfriend, model Camila Alves.

A letter to the actor read: “We know that you already have a stunning girl in Camila Alves. But in a survey we recently conducted, nearly nine out of 10 girls (89 per cent) told us that they would turn down a guy because he smelled bad - no matter how in-shape or successful he is.

“We read that you ‘never use deodorant' and we sure want you to keep Camila around, so we've enclosed a one year supply of the new AXE Bullet, the first pocket-sized deodorant body spray for guys.

"We know that you're always on-the-go and like to travel light, so this handy little gadget should fit perfectly into your active lifestyle!”
