Would you consider MC Hammer a social media expert? True, he's dope on the floor and magic on the mic, but is Web 2.0 MC Hammer's forté? The organizers of Social Media Club Sydney say "yes", and feel that, with his 1.6 million Twitter followers, MC Hammer is 2 legit 2 quit. The event itself is also a fundraiser for indigenous and disadvantaged local kids, if just seeing MC Hammer talk about social media wasn't enough of a draw.

But does having loads of followers mean all that much? With so many celebrities on Twitter, the question must be asked. After all, MC Hammer found that there were loads of Twitpics of people dressed up as him for Halloween, and he references them in his tweets, but doesn't comment on the photos themselves? C'mon, where's the love?

The other speaker is Drew Parkes, who, as Digital Marketing Manager for Microsoft, definitely knows a thing or three about managing online audiences. XBox Live, anyone?
