MC Hammer, the 47-year-old, parachute-panted, Rick James-sampling, formerly bankrupted rap star, is bringing his notoriety back to the small screen in a half-hour reality tv series for the A&E Network dubbed simply: Hammertime.

Personally, I'd rather see reruns of his animated series Hammer Man than have to endure more of Hammer's televised "reality. But maybe that's just me.

Whatever happens: please Hammer, don't hurt 'em.

The guys who brought us Biggest Loser and other reality classics are bringing MC Hammer back into our homes.

The A&E Network has ordered 11 episodes of the half-hour reality series Hammertime, which follows the life of former rapper-dancer MC Hammer and his family: wife Stephanie and their six kids, who live in Tracy, California.
