We keep trying to avoid the issue, it seems sometimes.  The issue for me is character.

Let’s review the choices: we have a man who sat in a pew and worshiped with a racist pastor who is anti-American and anti-White.  This lasted for twenty years.  And he thinks this is O.K.

The Senator cannot divide himself from this man because he is a member of the Black Community.

Where is his spine?

We have a woman who has adored power so much she couldn’t wait to get her hands on the health care system when her husband became president.  But she was clueless about reaching out, building coalitions and making teams — so the effort crashed and burned in a big way.

And then we have John McCain.  He chose to be a fighter pilot — a dangerous and formidable line of work.  That profession got him into a prisoner of war camp — and into a life of torture.  He not only entered the life of the POW — he was a the role model for how good men might conduct themselves.

The communists said, after they found out that his Dad was an Admiral, “You can go.”  McCain chose to stay with his countrymen. His fellow prisoners of war.

John McCain served admirably in the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.  His detractors say he reached way across the aisle too much to the likes of Ted Kennedy.

That is why we like this man.

Obama continues to hug a pastor with too little redeaming good — and we write this on Easter.  He is the “Pastor Disaster.”  But Mr. Obama refuses to get a divorce. Even when he really needs one.  We favor loyalty, usually.  We put a high regard on those that honor their shipmates.  But not when the pastor is a disaster — not when he is a racist and preaches hate.

And Hillary, is, well, Hillary.  A Little Rock attorney of merit that linked herself forever to Bill.  There seems to be a certain lack of character there, depending upon what your definition of “is” “is.”

Her “boy” James Carville called Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico “Judas,” today, Easter Sunday.

I didn't like that much.

Mr. Richardson replied, “I’m not going to get in the gutter like that.”

“And you know, that’s typical of many of the people around Senator Clinton. They think they have a sense of entitlement to the presidency,” said the one time Ambassodor to the U.N.

“I faced in Vietnam, at times, very real threats to life and limb,” McCain said. “But while my sense of honor was tested in prison, it was not questioned.”

With all due respect... You must be kidding !!!

reality check

GOP KILLING FLOOR

the same is true for democrats...

DEM KILLING FLOOR

So I suggest that both parties suffer from a form of proto-fascism where corporation's agenda has replaced the will of WE THE PEOPLE !

As depicted here...

HIGHEST BIDDER

At least...

"Private interests have looted the treasury, and the administration has sanctioned unrestrained fraud and corruption. We have watched Congress and the press become weak and willing handmaidens to those who would rip apart the fabric and laws of our democratic society. We hunger for the restoration of hope, common sense and purpose." - Jann S. Wenner 10/26/07 RS40

EXECUTIVE RESUME

I liked the McCain who ran against Bush in 2000. He was the crazy type of bastard who ran the risk of saying what he really thought at any moment, handlers be damned. For that he should be admired and for that he was spanked down in 2000 and neutered by the political machine. I fear that at this particular moment he is the same type of man that Winston Smith was after his time in Room 101. This is not to say that he is a coward - parish that thought. He's braver than most of us think we are and defintely braver than I ever have a hope to be.

No, I think that bravery does not play into this. I think, rather, that in his quest to be President McCain had to trade something or give up something in order for the Party to give him his at bat.

In the first paragraph I say he was neutered, and in a metaphoric way I think that's right. The straight talk express was what he might well have been on in his first run for The Job. But not now. Now he's a company man and I dare say he may well have forgotten what being his own politician is all about.

No, somewhere along the line I fear The Party just sucked the Jefferson right out of him.

Yep, & here's a tender senior moment for ya...

OLD SOLDIERS NEVER DIE, THEY GET YOUNG SOLDIERS KILLED !

"A people living under the perpetual menace of war and invasion is very easy to govern. It demands no social reforms. It does not haggle over expenditures for armaments and military equipment. It pays without discussion, it ruins itself, and that is an excellent thing for the syndicates of financiers and manufacturers for whom patriotic terrors are an abundant source of gain" - Anatole France

good stuff:

John E. Carey, I like this story. It's good stuff.

War *is* hell. I lost a lot to Vietnam. No one in their right mind wants war.

But sometimes, you don't have a choice. The Japanese bomb Pearl Harbor, and you'd better get the message.

Jihad is declared against us--and we'd better get the message.

McCain knows how to negotiate, and how to war when necessary. I don't see anyone out there in this race right now with the proven courage and character that he has. He's a rarity these days.

It is about character, PEP and all.  Everthing else is fluf.  My Bride, Bless her heart, grew up in War in Vietnam.  We never want that again.  And we want leadership that "gets it."  John

GOOD ARTICLE..GOOD SUBJECT..

McCain stayed as a POW because they knew his father was an Admiral and could use him to negotiate the end to the war. If McCain truly was about having his buddies return before him....why the big coverup that he put into law in concern to still missing POW's? http://christianparty.net/mccain.htm

http://www.geoffmetcalf.com/mccain.html

Hillary got hit by her own bullet and she is dead.  Obama can't run away from the devil.  McCain is in bed with the "libra-cons" and he will go to war with Iran.  So vote for Al Gore.

You can trust Al Gore to make the right decision, remember he invented the Internet and global warming.  You can trust him with your wife - ask Billy Boy.
