Mediaite.com: Watching the Media Watch the Media

Mediaite.com just launched, so you, too, can see which media personality is at the top of the popularity-contest heap. I thought junior high was done. I was sorely mistaken. Now we just wait for the inevitable Twitter tie-in. Incidentally, on launch day the site is inaccessible. D'you think someone should know about that?

When asked why he was starting another media navel-gazing site, founder Dan Abrams busted out the same answer Johnny Rotten used when challenged over the Sex Pistols reunion: "Why not?" Johnny Rotten dropped an f-bomb, but still, same gist.

Thing is, do we care about yet another who's-who of pseudo-celebs? Time will tell. Time will tell.
