Mega Man joins Nintendo's Smash Bros
At this year's E3 Nintendo announced that Mega Man would be joining their latest fighter: Super Smash Bros for the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Wii U.
According to series producer Masahiro Sakurai: getting Mega Man in was easy. After Sonic, Mega Man was the second most requested character in the game. The character is owned by Capcom and after the company was approached they quickly agreed to have him in the title. His moves will be range based and not melee. The character will have one upppercut move inspired by his appearance in Marvel vs. Capcom though.
Mega Man is the first announced combatant in the title from outside the Nintendo company. The Wii version featured Sonic and Snake from Metal Gear Solid as characters from outside the company.
So far the announced characters are: Mario, Bowser, Kirby, Pikachu, Link (Legend of Zelda), Samus (Metroid), Fox (Star Fox), Villager (Animal Crossing), Pit (Kid Icarus), Wii Fit Trainer and Mega Man.
