Their wedding ceremony was no doubt straight from a fairytale, and Prince William and Kate Middleton's reception brought out all the stops.

Following their historical nuptials earlier today (April 29), the newlywed Royals enjoyed mingling at the Buckingham Palace where guests were served Pol Roger NV Brut Reserve Champagne along with other soft and alcoholic drinks.

Lucky attendees feasted away on menu items such as Cornish Crab Salad on Lemon Blini, Pressed Duck Terrine with Fruit Chutney and Scottish Smoked Salmon Rose on Beetroot Blini. Royal chef Mark Flanagan and his team also prepared honey-glazed chipolatas, smoked haddock fishcake, poached asparagus spears and miniature Yorkshire puddings with roast beef.

And the towering cake was an unbelievable sight as the official baker, Fiona Cairns, created an absolute masterpiece designed specifically for the Prince and his new Princess.

According to Omg!, the eight-tiered concoction was made from 17 individual fruit cakes and contained around 900 individually iced flowers and leaves of 17 different varieties.

Guests at the royal reception were also given the option of indulging in a chocolate biscuit cake, which was served at the request of Prince William after he enjoyed the treat as a child.

And as she did earlier in the day, Kate stunned her guests in a jaw-dropping dress custom designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen.
