Who Wants a Horny TV Quiz-Show Host?

Meredith Vieira seriously achieved cougar status on a  recent episode of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? when Max Schuman, a Navy pilot, took the hot seat. Viera berated Schuman, “You are one handsome guy—woah!” were the first words out of the 55 year-old anchor's mouth. Viera then said "I don't usually like to fly but I am changing my mind" followed by a suggestive, "I'm ready to play anytime" all before the $100 question was even asked.

Following Schuman's right answer Vieira took a breath and said, "it's pathetic, I'm an old horny woman!"

The $200 question was quite the innuendo and hence brought out the most salacious advance from Vieira. "The childhood prank known as a 'wet willie' involves putting a wet finger in someone's what?" The question was followed by laughter and a shockingly risqué comment from the usually tame and well-mannered Vieira, "anywhere you want to put it, Max."Viera then offered up her own ear to a 'wet willie' from the dashing pilot as the horn ending the round sounded.

What do you think? Harmless fun or were Vieira's comments too much for a respectable woman?

55, eh?  Maybe she should drop a dime on Al Pacino.

Ha ha, I think they "baited' her with those questions. It sure seemed pretty hot there, didn't it?

1.  Contestants are pretty serious about winning on this show, her inappropriate and distasteful advances were no doubt a major distraction.  If he lost points it could be considered that she was the main reason. 2.  With so little on tv that my kids can watch and that does not offend me, Millionaire used to be something I felt the whole family can watch - but no more. 3.  I was embarrassed by the words "horney" and other sexual innuendo and surprised it all wasn't bleeped out. 4.  Her poor husband! 5.  His inappropriate and distasteful compliance (ear) repulsed me.

She was way, way, WAY out of line. Was she drunk? She needs a drug test.

She clearly wasn't drunk.  Look at her mannerisms and listen to her inflection.  I kind of agree with you, though; she WAS acting drunk except for those things.  Some prescription drugs mess with people that way and she said she had depression and anxiety, so maybe she's taking something that causes her to be tempted to act that way.  Then again, maybe it was just hormones messing with her judgment. As for her inappropriate behavior, I think the most important thing would have been to control her thoughts, although she shouldn't have put him on the spot that way either.I find Meredith to be quite a character, actually, and I have mixed feelings about this.  She's wrong and goes way over the line sometimes, but on the other hand she's very confident and relaxed when she jokes around and it's a bit of a relief in this society to see someone who doesn't view every single thing people do around others as a gauge of "social skills" (but yes, sometimes she can be inappropriate).  In some ways I wish for the days when we didn't read too much into everything the way we do now. This is long enough already, so I'll just close by saying that I agree with LindieLee about Meredith's "poor husband" and I found the Wet Willy thing to be gross.
