Deadline.com is reporting that Paramount has hired Michael Bay to produce the latest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles adaptation. The decision came as a result of Bay's success with another franchise based on an `80s cartoon series - Transformers. Bay will produce through Platinum Dunes, his production company with Brad Fuller and Andrew Form. Platinum Dunes is the company behind the recent remakes of several classic horror movies from the `70s and `80s like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the 13th, and Nightmare on Elm Street. The TMNT film is expected to be released in 2012.
