Inside Neverland Ranch

A duplicate of Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch may soon be built on an island north of Shanghai as a group of businessmen have proposed to build a replica that would be the centerpiece of a sightseeing park that will have rural cuisine  and Chinese folk music.

"We believe the farmland, without the Neverland Ranch, would be too plain," Qiu Xuefan, a chamber of commerce representative for businesspeople from the eastern manufacturing city of Wenzhou said.

"We think it would be a good idea to build a place for Chinese fans to remember him," Qiu was quoted as saying, adding inspiration for the replica came after Jackson's death last month.

The replica would be 667,000 square metres (165 acres), which would make it one seventeenth the size of the original Neverland and the first phase could be completed as early as next year. The businessmen have even contacted Jackson's estate about buying memorabilia.
