There will be a public viewing of Michael Jackson's body at the Neverland Ranch on Friday, July 3.

So where is Neverland Ranch? The sprawling estate is located in Santa Barbara County, California, close to the town of Los Olivos and about eight miles north of the town of Santa Ynez. On Thursday, Jackson's body is expected to be transported 150 miles from Los Angeles to the Neverland Ranch.

A public ceremony may also take place in Jackson's hometown of Gary, Indiana.

Mayor Rudy Clay says he plans to hold a memorial service for Jackson on July 10 at Gary's U.S. Steel Works ballpark.

"I believe that his body will lie in state in Gary, Indiana," Clay said Tuesday. "Now, it may not happen, but I believe it will."

No decision has made as to where Jackson's remains will be buried.

Michael should be buried in the same town he was born. Can anyone tell me why we say "remains"? It sounds like leftovers from a meal. Just say "Michael".

They need to rewrite Rock & Roll Heaven, We've lost to many great artists since. And now that Michael has Passed Away, it certainly seems to be the right time for a new version. Michael i know in my heart, you were given a Standing Ovation when you walked onto that Stage in Heaven. May you find peace and solice the rest of eternity, while at the right hand of our Lord. Im Greatful, for the gift of your love for humanity, and the gifts of music you've left for all of us here. Sincerely, Brian (God Speed Michael)!!!!!

Update: It appears that the Neverland Ranch showing has been cancelled.

Jackson family spokesman Ken Sunshine said a public memorial was in the works but that it wouldn't be at Neverland.
