Michael Jackson's 'This It It' Movie Tickets Draws Crowds

The desire to get tickets for the film based on the last hundred hours of rehearsal footage from Michael Jackson's tour, This Is It, saw some people waiting in line for two days outside the Nokia Plaza in anticipation.
The film is pieced together from about a hundred hours of rehearsal footage and is directed by Kenny Ortega, who was working with Jackson before he died. The movie promises to show Michael's evolution of music, costumes, dancing, auditions, and all that goes in to a multi-million dollar tour.
The President of the concert compnay AEG who were producing Michael Jackson's concert tour This Is It, Tim Leiweke, spoke of what he felt when he heard the news of Michael Jackson's death.
"Well, at first it lets all the air out of you, and you sit here and you're stunned at how quickly it happened and occurred. You're in denial. You can't believe it. You're looking around, saying, 'What happened?"
There has been much speculation that AEG did not have Michael Jackson's best interests in mind when they produced his tour, as they added more dates and some said they worked the singer too hard.
"I think we still are hurt," Leiweke said. "Some of the things that people have said about us, which are so untrue, this movie's going to restore his legacy, and prove that we, in fact, gave Michael a second chance here. And an opportunity to make the kind of comeback he was dreaming of. And that we created an environment for him that was probably the best environment that the guy had the last 10 or 15 years of his life. And I'm very proud of the way we treated Michael, and very proud of the partnership that we had with him. And this movie is an opportunity to celebrate that, and we could get past all of the gossip and all of the innuendo."
If these initial ticket sales are anything to go by, This Is It is going to be a big hit for AEG regardless.
The movie opens October 28th
