Michael Jackson' public memorial will take place on Tuesday, July 7, at the Staples Center at 10 a.m. The program will be simulcast at the nearby Nokia Theater.

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Michael Jackson's memorial service will take place Tuesday morning in the Staples Center, the 20,000-seat coliseum in downtown Los Angeles where Jackson rehearsed his show the night before he died, according to a person who has been briefed by a representative of the family.
The date was just released today, but there has been some confusion surrounding the details till now.
Despite reports that the public ceremony will be a funeral, the source told Silverstein it will actually be a memorial to the King of Pop.
It was announced earlier this week that Michael Jackson was to have a public memorial at Neverland Ranch, his famous home in California, but his family said this was not going to happen.
Thousands of fans have already flocked to Neverland Ranch in the hopes of paying tribute to him, but now they may have to travel back to Los Angeles if they want to do the same.

Actually, the Jackson family doesn't know exactly when or where the memorial is to
be held.
The burial isn't known and they aren't taking him back to neverland
because he wouldn't have wanted to go back to neverland. that is where most of
his false accusations started. that is why he was in a different home when he died.
also, neverland was going through a legal process in which half of it was sold that i
know of. it was said that he may be buried in Gary, Indaina. His childhood hometown
but the family is trying to wait and see if a more updated will surfaces, if not they
don't know where his resting place will be. But he wouldn't have wanted to go back
to neverland.

I would be very grateful to be able to pay my respests to Michael at the memorial.From Physical Education class in 1983 to drill team, in high school I was always learning dance routines to Michaels music. Thriller was the first cassette tape that my mother ever bought for me.My gosh.The memories. My brother and I were glued to MTV. I feel that we'll never have someone that can sing, write,and dance like him in our lifetime again.

how do you know he died w/out Jesus as his savior? did he tell you personally that he wasn't?????? people need to stop calling him names... he was found innocent in a court... he was already tried in court and the whole thing made public... you would have done worse drugs and such if that had happened to you!
