Michael Jackson's Will - Executors Get Control Of His Assets
Much has been speculated about the will of Michael Jackson after his untimely and tragic death. However all speculation has been laid to rest for the time as the judge gave control of Michael Jackson's assets to will's co-executors.
A Los Angeles, California, Superior Court judge granted control of singer Michael Jackson's assets to the co-executors of his will Monday.
The executors -- John Branca, Jackson's longtime personal attorney, and John McClain, a music industry executive and longtime friend -- had sought seek immediate control of the entertainer's assets at a hearing before Judge Mitchell Beckloff.
The judge granted them control until another hearing August 3.
About 20 lawyers were in the courtroom, packing the first two rows. Some were part of the legal team for the executors, but some represented unnamed clients.
The will -- written seven years ago and filed in court Wednesday -- places all of Jackson's assets into a family trust that benefits his mother, Katherine Jackson, his three children and several unnamed charities.
The question of who gets Jackson's children was delayed until next week while Debbie Rowe, who gave birth to the two oldest, decides whether she'll seek custody or visitation, the lawyer said last week.
