Michael Shannon to Play Zod in Superman: The Man of Steel

Zach Snyder's Superman: The Man of Steel has its villain... and it's none other than General Zod. Academy Award nominee Michael Shannon will step into the shoes once worn by Terence Stamp. Will Michael Shannon have to rock that black open-chested outfit? That's up to the costume designer. Will he get the same goons to back him up? That's up to the screenwriter.

Michael Shannon joins a growing cast, which already includes Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, and Diane Lane.

We're not sure which version of Zod's character history they're going to run with; there are several different versions of Zod. However, all of them would prefer it greatly if you'd kneel.
