Sportsmen are sometimes described as artists and Michael Vaughan one of the most respected and successful captains of the England cricket team has taken this at face value with an exhibition of works made by hitting cricket balls covered in paint at canvasses.
The results are sometimes stunning reminding one of Pollock at times though the pieces may appeal more to those in search of 'celebrity works' than 'fine art works' which does not mean that they aren't fine art too.

As the most successful ever English captain it's sometimes easy to forget Vaughan the batsman - he was placed as number one in the world batting rankings. 'Vaughan's stroke play was pure artistry,' reported one Sydney Newspaper.
