Michelle Phillips rallies kids in support of President Obama
Malibu, CA -- When then 19-year-old budding songwriter Michelle Phillips co-wrote "California Dreamin'" with the late singer/guitarist/songwriter John Phillips in 1963, the original theme was about a man living in a cold environment longing for the warmth of the Golden State.
Nearly fifty years later, the lyrical composition has taken on new meaning while attracting several generations of fresh faces and energetic, youthful appeal.
Under a gentle breeze and an umbrella of love, young hopefuls between ages 5 and 25 gathered with their parents, grandparents and representatives at El Matador Beach May 14 to film a portion of an unprecedented entertainment campaign with Phillips to support the re-election of President Barack Obama, the United States of America's 44th commander-in-chief and cheer on the California DREAM Act.
