Microsoft Poland: Racism and Photoshop Disasters
I don't know what's worse about this Microsoft Poland version of its BPI (Business Productivity Infrastructure) ad... the racism or the bad Photoshop. Look closely at this image. Got it? Okay... now look at this one. Does anything strike you as... odd? Surely this joins the pantheon of Photoshop Disasters.
How about that mannequin-looking monstrosity in the middle? If you think your target market doesn't believe in black people (Black people are totally real, take my word for it if you must), then could you not just shoot a different photo? Which moron thought that hiring a second grader to bust open Photoshop Elements was the way to go here?
Microsoft Poland apologized, saying that they Photoshopped the image(if you can even call it "Photoshopped") because there aren't too many black guys in Poland... but are there many Asians? The Asian guy survives the Great Photoshop Massacre here.
Now I'm annoyed.
(This item was brought to my attention by... everybody, pretty much)

Wow. Just... wow. They didn't even change his hand. Yeah, putting aside the issue of *why*... how was it not cheaper to shoot two photos?

There are 99.9% white people in Poland and MS simply tried to have more suitable ad. Black people are simply very uncommon there. If you had advertisement in China, you’ll pick Asian faces, if you had ad in Kenya, you wouldn’t pick whites but blacks. Isn’t that obvious?? But I agree, somebody sucks in work with Photoshop :-)

July, 2009, Contessa Brewer, an MSNBC anchor, insulted our intelligence when she stated the following: "A man at a pro-health care reform rally just outside, wore a semiautomatic assault rifle on his shoulder and a pistol on his hip." She went on to state: "I mean, here you have a man of color in the presidency and white people showing up with guns strapped to their waists or to their legs."
The accompanying video edited out the fact that the citizen with the semiautomatic rifle was black, another stain on rogue journalism. How can the Microsoft Corporation support such divisive race-baiting?
