Mike Klar, a metal fabricator with Rustic Steel Creations, a Tampa-based metal fabrication studio, puts the finishing touches on Rustic's contribution to this year's Nude Nite, held in Tampa for the second year.

What is Nude Nite?

Nude Nite is touted to be the largest nude art event in the country and kicks off Thursday, March 4th, 2010. The event includes hundreds of artists who sell and display their interpretations of the nude human form.

In addition to the mixed media sculpture, onlookers can expect to find 2D fine art, body painting, live canvases, and even some burlesque.

The 3-day event will be held at:

  • Tampa Armature Works Warehouse in Tampa Heights,
  • 1910 N. Ola Ave. Tampa, FL 33602.
  • Tickets are available at the door for $20, 21 and up only.

Found Art Sculpture

Klar invested 40-50 hours in the piece he's been working on. It includes the following items: springs, spoons, chain, a mixing bowl, a horse shoe, stretched conduit, railroad ties and even a gun barrel.

If stretched upright, the crouched female figure would be about 8 1/2 to 9 feet tall, and weigh about 200 lbs. Rustic Steel's owner and founder, Dominique Martinez, will be representing the sculpture and the company at this weekend's festivities.

Visit Nude Nite or Rustic Steel Creations for more information.
