Miss Miley Cyrus has pulled out of her first scheduled public appearance since the Vanity Fair photo scandal emerged earlier this week.

The 15-year-old star of "Hannah Montana" for weeks has been scheduled to appear at a red carpet event for Disney in Orlando, Florida, but it has been confirmed that she will no longer attend.

Miss Cyrus was to appear at a media party in Orlando, Florida tonight, along with dozens of other Disney Channel stars in town to film the "Disney Channel Games," a charity competition.

But her status as a role model for young girls has been called into question after the Vanity Fair photos, showing Cyrus' bare shoulders and back, taken by renowned celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz were released.

She and the magazine defended the pictures, saying the singer, her parents and her handlers approved of the images during the shoot.

Miss Cyrus said earlier this week that she was "embarrassed" by the pictures and apologised to fans.

I like Miley Cyrus and i also like Hannah Montana, But after seeing that Picture of her with nothing on i think it`s really discriminating ,and young people ages 6 and up, look up to her and if there going to see that picture of her like that, it should be taken off this really silly website !!!!!!!!!

for gods sake give her a break she was wearing pants for one, not 'nothing' like you suggest. and how is it discriminating? shes only sixteen bloody years old and she is human, not an acting, singing robot which people forget when they slam her for making mistakes.

all i want to say is that maybe she is seeking another fun thing to do.but i hope that she will still like hanna montana on  the way her character in that movie will not be change. in her way of real life cause her funs is just like her age but i hope that she will be a good example toward them. iknow that  many artist like miley got realy strike out in real life   and face so many problems but i just wish all her the best and continue her carrir in life .

The Vanity Fair pics were ok, they were not explicit! young girls shouldnt be reading vanity fair anyway ("shouldnt" being the operative word)

The photos that she is taking of herself in her underwear on her bed and "somehow" getting onto the internet are the concerning ones! This encourages young girls to take pics of themselves and post them online aswell and thus putting them at risk to preditors (which are everywhere) Miley has the luxury of body guards and that wonderful high life but normal pre-teen and young teen girls do not have the same protection against predators and sex offenders that prowl the internet!

Nope

I say just leave her alone. It is her life not ours! Who are we to judge? She is her own person who has the freedom to make her own decisions with the support of her parents! They said it was ok ,they are her parents, and we have no say so!!!
