LIVESTOCK DAVIES & THE LOWDOWN SNAKES_ Monmouth Fest 2011

The 29th free music festival in the historic town of Monmouth in the beautiful Wye Valley, Wales, kicks off every year on the last Friday in July. This year the festival opened with The Cherrybeats, a local band from Newport, followed by international artist Mungo JerryRhapsody,  Queen tribute band, GLC Goldie Lookin Chain, UK Pink Floyd Experience, Russ Poole, Livestock Davies & The Lowdown Snakes  plus many more artist.

It is believed that the Monmouth Festival is one of the longest running free festivals in Europe which started in 1983. This year it ran from Friday 29th July to Saturday 6th August.

The festival is unique in that it is supported entirely by advertising sponsorship and by "bucket babes" who go out and collect donations from the crowd. A genuine "no ticket needed" attraction, which means that the whole family can attend for very little cost.

This festival attracts visitors from all over the UK and often tourists who are passing through the very beautiful Wye Valley, come and enjoy the evenings which are a wonderful mixture of fun and music. No matter what your taste in music you can be certain there will be something on the calendar for you to enjoy.
